The Courts at Yorkshire Downs is getting a $350,000 face-lift.
Forty of the 202 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments are expected to have interior renovations beginning this summer.
Other renovations will include landscape upgrades, outdoor LED lighting and possible improvements to common areas such as the clubhouse, fitness center, pool and tennis courts.
Deidre Brown, director of multifamily management for Hampton Roads at Drucker + Falk, said specific renovations to the apartments have not been approved by owner Republic Properties Corp. yet, but new lighting, finishes, energy-efficient appliances and granite or sea glass countertops are likely to be on the list.
The apartment community was built in 1987 and Brown said she believed this would be the property’s first significant renovation.
Republic purchased the apartment community for $23.3 million — $115,347 per unit — on Nov. 6. It has an occupancy rate of 93 percent.
Brown said the 40 apartments will be renovated as they become available and no additional amenities are included in the plans so far.
The renovations are expected to be completed by late 2019.
